Nicknamed the “God Particle”, the Higgs boson is not a “nothing” it’s an incredibly small “something”. This something is capable, at least theoretically, of generating matter from energy. Really important in particle physics, and its discovery could be revolutionary. No one is really convinced the folks at the CERN have it figured out, but their data should keep people busy for another decade or so.
Actually, i hope they have found evidence of the Higgs boson. Of course the following question has to be: Who or what caused the Higgs? I’ll give you a hint, it wasn’t Richard Dawkins.
